Smoked Rainton Tomme

Very Limited Edition Smoked Cheese
Description

We have the most amazing traditional smokehouse just round the coast from us, Galloway Smokehouse, owned by master smoker Allan Watson. We were curious about how smoking one of our cheeses might transform it, so we gave Allan a few rounds of Rainton Tomme to try. Long story short – when stocks permit, we’ll be sending Tomme his way on a regular basis.
 
This listing is for 500g (ish) wedges of Rainton Tomme from this first test run. In the future we will probably cut smaller wedges for smoking so the cheese has a larger relative surface area for pulling in all that lovely smoky flavour.
 
Please note, this product is available in very limited quantities. There is some variation in weight in these smoked wedges due to moisture content, 500g is an average weight for this batch, not a minimum weight.
 
This cheese is made with vegetarian rennet and raw milk from our cow with calf dairy farm.

500g wedge

Your cheese order will be delivered in Woolcool packaging, a system of eco-friendly insulated packaging made from sheep’s wool. This packaging keeps our cheeses below  5oC  for 48 hours so that they reach you perfectly chilled and ready to enjoy. Cheeses are sent using a next day delivery courier service, however occasionally delivery can be delayed. If you receive your cheese a day later than expected, the cheese will be absolutely fine. The Sorba-freeze ice packs we use are reusable, they can be dehydrated (on a radiator) and rehydrated with water and refrozen.

We dispatch orders once a week, on Tuesdays. For same week delivery, please place your order by 1pm on Monday.

You can schedule your delivery in advance, although some products, such as Garnie, have restricted dispatch windows.
